How to Export Contacts from Gmail

To export contacts from your Gmail account, please follow the directions below:

  1. Sign in to Gmail.
  2. At the top left of your screen, click |Gmail|Contacts|.
  3. Click |More|Export|.
  4. If you are prompted to "Export from the old Version", click the |Go to Old Version| link and begin again from step 3 above. Please note that Microsoft Edge may block the popup of the old Gmail version. Click the |Allow Once| button located at the bottom of the Microsoft Edge browser to allow the old version of Gmail to open.
  5. Select to export 'All Contacts' and 'Outlook .CSV Format'.
  6. Click |Export| and choose |Save As| to download and save your contacts to a folder on your hard drive.
  7. Don't forget to note where you downloaded your exported contact file, by default Windows will download your file to the 'downloads' folder.
